Impact Description | Sagittaria latifolia, Polygonum hydropiperoide and Polygonum hydropiper had the highest forage ratios and were the least available plants in the study sites with Nutria (Myocastor coypus). Heavy grazing by Myocastor coypus significantly reduced the total abundance of vegetation and the effects of feeding were greatest when the largest populations Myocastor coypus were present. Myocastor coypus grazing is responsible for the disappearance of Sagittaria latifolia from the refuge |
